Liquor Licensing Bureau started in 1990 and was built to full time in 1998. A background of nearly 30years as a Registrar and Deputy Registrar in the Justice and Courts Departments Ross spent most of the 80s as clerk of the then Waikato Licensing Committee (Regional Liquor Licensing, the forerunner to District Licensing Agencies). He also assisted with the handover to the Councils in 1990.
Ross has also had considerable casual experience over 30 years working in Restaurants, Bars and Taverns, including a reasonable stint in Hamilton’s famous Hillcrest Tavern!
Also within the Courts department Ross became expert in Health and Safety and Fire Evacuation procedures.
Having worked for the authorities in the past and in licensed premises Ross feels he is the best person for the job knowing all angles.
Now added to be being appointed the Licensing Inspector for the Chatham Islands and the Waitomo district (So can not ”consult” in those areas), which ties up a well rounded depth of experience and approach by knowing how all parties in the process tick  and what it takes to achieve a win-win.
