Off Licences
NB – Subject to the right age of course.
There is now an allowance for complimentary supply of liquor on the premises by way of sample (tastings).
Again these applications must be advertised.
Section 30: Who may hold an Off Licence
(Equivalent to, On Licences)
This includes any club (including those clubs that held a charter under the 1962 Sale of Liquor Act), that holds a club licence. But not a sports club.
Section 35/37: Criteria & Conditions
Much the same as On Licences without the Host Responsibility conditions.
Section 36: Types of premises in respect of which off licences may be granted:
This allows any type of premises except a dairy, petrol station or sports club. (So as they differ from a dairy) and defines supermarkets and grocery stores who can only sell wine and beer.
